First National Millet Day, 2025

The First Millet Day officially celebrated on Shrawan 16, 2082 (August 1, 2025), with the main national event hosted in Tathali, located in Changunarayan Municipality, Bhaktapur. This historic occasion, organized in joint cooperation by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD), Department of Agriculture, Changunarayan Municipality, National Farmers' Group Federation, Nepal, Association of Nepali Agriculture Journalists, Food and Agriculture Organization. The event aimed to promote millet as a nutritious, climate-resilient, and sustainable crop, while also addressing rising import dependency and declining domestic production.
