Farmers have been affected due to non-production of seeds in the paddy distributed by the Agriculture Development Office
According to the District Agriculture Development Office, Dhading, local farmers in Sunaula Bazaar 8 Birtaphat of Dhading district have been facing the problem of non-availability of seeds in the main seedlings of the Hardinath 1 variety. The seedlings were brought to Parwanipur and distributed by the Agriculture Development Office. The farmers had planted 10 hectares of paddy. Even though there is a grain of paddy now, there is no grain. Although the local farmers have informed the District Agriculture Development Office, Dhading about the problem, and the Agriculture Office has sent the paddy to the National Agricultural Research Council for testing, no report has been received so far. It is said that this problem may be due to net blast disease. According to Bhakta Bahadur Basnet, vice-president of the National Farmers Group Federation, the farmers have staged a sit-in and cordoned off the District Agriculture Development Office to investigate the situation and compensate the farmers.
